Job Description:
KLA-Tencor is seeking a talented individual for a staff engineer position in the world-class algorithm group within the reticle and photo mask inspection division (RAPID). The successful candidate is expected to design the next generation die-to-database (D:DB) algorithms used in the reticle inspection tools. The ideal candidate should possess strong lab experience and at the same time have mathematical inclinations. Alternatively, this person should have solid theoretical optics/physics training and in the meanwhile carry the interest and intuition to link mathematical equations to real-world optical systems. A key qualification is to innovate new algorithms based on thorough understanding of the hardware/optics and mathematical formulations. The candidate is expected to work closely with other algorithm, systems engineers, and optical engineers. This person must also be proficient in C/C++ in order to convert ideas into a real product

Qualifications/Education Desired:
1) Ph D in EE, applied optics, or applied physics
2) Thorough understanding of optical imaging principles
3) Strong in theoretical formulations and mathematics
4) Proficient in C/C++ and Matlab
5) 2 to 3 years of working experience
6) Passionate about solving difficult technical problems

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.
